Hello Again! Here are some natural remedies for all your cleaning purposes that I have found.
Toilet Cleaning - Drop a couple of Efferdent Tablets into the water and/or tank and watch your mineral stains disappear. If you use the Efferdent with Listerine it also gets sanitized too!! Clean with a toilet brush as usual and let set for overnight or for a short period of time. I found that it works best letting sit overnight. I put a couple of tablets in the water and scrub and then put a couple of tablets in the tank to wash away any minderal stains under the rim. Also helps clean your tank.
Baking Soda does it all - Use in bathroom, kitchen, cleans grout, carpet smells, etc. If you use vinegar and baking soda together it will even clean your drains! I put baking soda on my carpet weekly, let set for 1/2 hr, then vacumn. This keeps the carpet from having doggy odors. I also will sprinkle it on my couchs. Let sit and vacumn 1/2 hr later.
OK and here's a new one that works! Boil 1 qt water, drop two tea bags into the water, let set until room temperature, take out tea bags, put in a spray bottle and now you have instant furniture polish! Spray on, wipe well, then buff. It will help take off old furniture polish build up and it cleans your furniture with no residue.
When using a steam cleaner on your carpets, use regular dish detergent and baking soda instead of chemical cleaners. Just add a small amount of both to hot water and use your machine as usual. Please be careful though as this DOES NOT work in shampooers.
Got a scuff mark, or water mark on your floor or furniture? Again, baking soda will remove both. Make a paste out of baking soda and water. Let set on scuff or ring.......buff off.
Corn Meal! Regular corn meal will soak up urine out of your carpet or floors. Of course you should always soak up as much urine as possible with paper towels first....but after soaking up what you can, sprinkle corn meal over the spot, let set for appr. 1/2 hr...then vacumn. It will help soak up moisture.
Vinegar is a regular household cleaner!! Use on drains, tough spots, etc. Windows as well.
Rubbing Alchohol does windows to a shine.
Want hairspray off your counter tops in the bath? Want shiny faucets? Wet a fabric softner sheet and wipe. It will make hairspray disappear and shine your faucets.
Want ink out? Spray hairspray (that contains alchohol) and it will wash out.
Want rust stains out? Use Lemon Juice.
